Biggest Eurojackpot Jackpot
The biggest ever Eurojackpot win has been €120 million. This has been the maximum amount since March 2022. Four months later, on 22nd July 2022, a player from Denmark won €120 million after 15 draws without a winner. It was revealed that the winning ticket was sold at a Meny store in Blåvand.
A German player, from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, had previously won €110 million on 20th May 2022. This was the first time the jackpot had gone above €100 million.
€90 Million Winners
The jackpot cap was €90 million until it was increased to €120 million in March 2022, so the top prize could roll no further once it hit this level. The first ticket holder to win €90 million was a Czech man, who matched all five main numbers and two Euro numbers in the draw on Friday 15th May 2015.
The winner, who bought his Eurojackpot ticket in the city of Pardubice, chose to remain anonymous and took nearly three weeks to come forward, having spent time considering how to deal with his newfound wealth. On collecting his winnings, he chose to take an initial Kč270,000 (approximately €10,000) in cash and then left, insisting that he needed to catch a train.
Other Big Eurojackpot Prizes
- Five players (three from Germany, one from Denmark and one from the Netherlands) shared €90 million on Friday 6th January 2017, the first time the game’s jackpot had been shared. Each player collected €18 million.
- On Friday 14th October 2016, a ticket holder from the Black Forest in Germany became the second winner of €90 million.
- A syndicate of 50 players from Finland won €90 million on Friday 23rd August 2019. As the winning ticket was a system entry, the syndicate also had two ‘Match 5 + 1’ prizes, plus several other minor wins. With a total payout of almost €92 million, they could claim to be Eurojackpot’s biggest winners of all time.
