Can Eurojackpot Follow A Great First Half To 2017?
A top prize of €46 million will be up for grabs on Eurojackpot tonight as players across the 17 participating countries look forward to the first draw of July and the chance to win lots of money in time for the height of summer. It has already been a successful first half of the year, with giant jackpots, a large number of big winners and some fascinating developments.
Special Milestones
Eurojackpot celebrated its fifth anniversary in March following the launch of the game in 2012, and by June another impressive landmark had been reached as the 1,000th winner of a six-figure prize had been created. Out of all these big winners, 511 have come from Germany.
Another big milestone awaits in the second half of 2017, as it is likely that Eurojackpot will crown the 100th millionaire in its history at some point very soon. There have so far been 97 players who have snapped up prizes of at least €1 million.
Big Winners in 2017
Eurojackpot has already helped 11 lucky players to become millionaires in the first half of this year, including nine jackpot winners and two ticket holders who won in the second tier. Germany has had the most success with seven new millionaires, while there has been one each from Finland, Hungary, Denmark and the Netherlands. A total of 193 participants have picked up major wins in excess of €100,000 since the start of the year.
The first draw of the year offered a gigantic jackpot of €90 million - the highest possible amount on Eurojackpot - and five players split the prize to transform their lives in an instant. The largest jackpot won by a single ticket this year has been €86.9 million, after a Finnish participant matched all five main numbers and both Euro numbers on 14th April.
Eurojackpot Growth
Eurojackpot is getting more and more popular, with €543 million being given away in prize money during the first half of the year. Eurojackpot chairman Andreas Kotter recently confirmed: “In comparison to the first half of the previous year, the gaming revenues increased by a further 24%.”
More To Come
Eurojackpot’s expansion will continue in September when Poland will join the game. The addition of another country will result in more tickets being sold and jackpots rising even more quickly.
More jackpots are guaranteed and the second half of the year will start this week with a massive €46 million on offer. You can choose numbers online or visit any authorised retailer to have a chance of becoming the next big winner. Good luck!
