Where Are The Luckiest Eurojackpot Locations?
Eurojackpot fans in 18 participating countries will be dreaming about the next big jackpot and the opportunity to splash the cash on luxurious purchases, but which places are most likely to be celebrating and is there really such a thing as a lucky location?
Las Palmas Luck
The biggest winner in the last draw on Friday 6th October was a Spanish player who matched five main numbers plus one Euro number to scoop €1.3 million. The ticket was bought in the town of Telde on Gran Canaria, an island with fewer than a million inhabitants, but incredibly this was not the only big win in the vicinity last Friday night.
A player from Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria and just a few miles away from Telde, won a huge €190 million on EuroMillions on the very same night. Another player from Las Palmas also picked up €1 million on the Spanish El Millon game.
German Jackpots
Gran Canaria is not the only lucky location for lottery players. There have been 23 winners of the top Eurojackpot prize in Germany since the game was launched in 2012, while the number of winners from all the other countries adds up to just 27. Finland has been responsible for 14 of those wins.
The success of German and Finnish players can be partly explained by the fact that the game is particularly popular in these nations. Germany has a larger pool of potential participants than other Eurojackpot nations due to the size of its population, and this is reflected in the number of winners.
Anyone Can Win
The success of lottery players in Gran Canaria last Friday was a remarkable coincidence, but it does not matter where someone is based or where they buy their tickets. The odds of winning a Eurojackpot prize are the same for each line, whether you play online or at a shop, in Germany or Iceland.
You have to be in it to win it, though, and tonight’s Eurojackpot draw will offer players the chance to win €31 million. You can choose numbers online or go to any authorised retailer. Good luck!
